La cage reprend la fonction de guide central, qui, associé à une configuration optimale des bagues, permet d'inclure des rouleaux plus gros et en plus grande quantité. Il en résulte une augmentation des capacitées de charge de 10 à 30% par rapport aux rouleaux cage acier traditionnels et une durée de vie étendue d'une manière significative.

La fonction de guidage des rouleaux est réalisée au travers du contact entre les deux collerettes, ce qui élimine la nécéssité d'une bague de guidage. Il en résulte une diminution substancielle de la génération de chaleur.

La combinaison de bagues stabilisées et d'une cage d'acier permet de fonctionner sous des températures pouvant aller jusqu'a 200°C.

L'usure de la cage est réduite de manière substancielle, par l'intermédiaire d'une cage de haute précision.

Double-row spherical roller bearings have a spherical raceway in the outer ring which enables extensive misalignment to be corrected. They accommodate radial and axial thrust in both directions.

Spherical roller bearings come with a cylindrical or tapered bore.

The 24000 and 24100 series with a tapered bore have a taper of 1:30 (suffix K4/K30). The other series have a taper of 1:12 (suffix K).

Except for the 213 series, spherical roller bearings come with a circular groove and greasing holes (suffix E4).

Special applications:

Spherical roller bearings are sometimes subjected to very difficult load conditions such as in vibrating screens. For this type of application, we can supply special-design bearings on request (reference: EVBC4 -CAME4U15 - VS, ditto for the tapered version)

Acceptable misalignment:

The acceptable misalignment fault for this type of bearing depends on the dimension of the bearing, and loads applieds on it. They are approximately from 1° to 2.5° under an average load.
