The inside links of Poly-steel chains are made of moulded polyacetal plastic and the outer links of 18/8 stainless steel. As a result, the advantages of the two materials are combined in the same chain. Compared with steel or stainless steel chains, Poly-steel chains offer 3 advantages:
1) lubrication completely unnecessary (when dry they have a higher level of resistance than a stainless steel chain).
2) the sound level is less than 5 dB.
3) its weight per metre is less than half.

* Cranked links are not available. Therefore the chain must have an even number of links.

* These chains operate with standard ASA sprockets. The quick attachments are the same as those used for stainless steel chains except for quick attachments with a 6.35 mm and 9.52 mm pitch which are specific. Similarly, all bent-link plates or straight plates are the same as used for stainless steel chains.

* The chain tension should be checked when a stainless steel chain is replaced with a poly-steel chain. The tension should not exceed the values indicated below.

* The operating temperature can range from -20° to +80°C. The maximum speed is 70 metres per minute.

* Without lubrication, the friction coefficient between the chain and guide rail is 0.25. It is the lower part of the links that should be in contact with the guide rail.

* Colour of inside links: white (brown on request).
